HTML5, CSS3 for Beginners

The HTML5&CSS3 Starter Course consists of 10 logically interconnected lessons, on which students apply in practice theoretical knowledge of HTML5&CSS3 technologies to create simple elements of a web page.
The course covers basic fundamentals necessary for working with the front-end of any website: creating the website structure, using semantic tags, specifying file paths, options for working with element sizes, internal and external spacing, element borders, text formatting, displaying images/pictures, placing blocks in the required quantity and order, nesting rules for tables and lists, color palette. By mastering these topics, the student will be able to implement: a website menu, a social media block, product cards and similar informational blocks, pagination, and simple single-page websites.

Introduction to HTML. Element Types and Attributes

At the beginning of the course, we will look at what html is, what it is for and how its elements are written. You will learn about tags, formatting in html, about the editor in which the code is written, the initial markup with which any web page is built and what comments in the code are used for. How to add pictures to the page, as well as various transitions by links. Learn the first types of elements and their differences with possible errors when writing code.

Introduction to CSS and Box Sizing

The lesson will cover methods for connecting styles to a page, types of selectors that can be used to bind styles to specified page elements. And what principles determine the priority of entries in CSS. In this lesson, the student will look at the basic behavior of elements when they are sized. In what cases is it possible that content will fall out of an element and spoil the appearance of the page.

Working with indents, the margin property and working with text and visibility of elements

The student will get acquainted with the mechanics of external indents for elements. Learn what collapse is and in what cases it is present. We will look at implicit indents when working with inline-block elements. Get acquainted with various CSS rules for text styling and how style inheritance works for descendant elements. How it is possible to hide markup elements on a page and what is the difference between different methods.

Layout using Flexbox

The goal of the lesson is to analyze the basic principles of the Flexbox module and teach how to use them. The ability to set flexible spacing between blocks and how their sizes are determined in some cases. The behavior of external indents when using flexbox.

Combining selectors and working with backgrounds, the background property

Combination is a very important part when writing code, which is discussed in the structure of lists and tables, since large nestings must be created and analyzed constantly at the stage of working with the project. Possibilities of accessing elements by pseudo-classes and the work of priority in such structures. The lesson will analyze the main ways of recording a color palette in properties where the color is specified. What is the difference in setting the transparency of an element through opacity and rgba(). Cases of adding images through CSS and placing a large number of them on one element.
